Home inspections
Detailed reports, not the same report home after home.
A clear picture of the house you’re about to buy, so you can decide whether it meets your financial needs and personal goals.
All the facts on the biggest purchase you’ll make
Home inspections are an important part of the home buying process. A detailed report is what you need to make a good decision, yet many inspectors hand out similar reports home after home without much detail. That doesn’t give you the information you need.
Strouse Home Inspections prides itself on detailed reports. We spend thorough time on every home and encourage you to ask questions along the way. We simply want you to have all the facts about what is most likely the biggest purchase you’ll ever make.
What’s in your report
Your report is sent, generally by 9:00 AM the next day, with evaluations of the plumbing, heating, cooling, windows, roof, siding, doors, pests, electrical systems, foundation and more.
- Marked-up photos. Arrows and circles show exactly what we found, with the inspector’s professional recommendation.
- Every photo and video. We share everything taken at the inspection, not just what made the report.
- The good points too. An inspection is for health and safety, so it can feel overwhelming. We point out what’s right with the house as well.
- Routine maintenance. What the house needs to stay in top condition after you move in.
That’s why we so strongly encourage you to follow us around during the entire inspection.
Add to your inspection
- Radon test: 48 hours, during your inspection period
- Sewer scope: camera from the house to the main
The little things
Things clients mention in their reviews.
We tag your shut-offs
Every accessible gas and water shut-off gets a label, so you can find them fast on the worst day of homeownership.
We respect the home
Indoor shoes, drop cloths and a vacuum. It’s still the seller’s house, and one day it will be yours.
We explain as we go
First-time buyer? Ask anything. You’ll leave knowing where things are, how they work and what to maintain.

Questions
Home inspection FAQ
How long does a home inspection take?
About three hours for a typical home. Larger homes and commercial properties take longer; we’ll adjust the time slot when you book.
Should I be there?
Yes, please. Walking through with us is the best way to learn the house, and it’s your chance to ask the questions you think of while touring with your agent.
When will I get the report?
Within 24 hours of the inspection, and usually before 9:00 AM the next day. You’ll get a link to download the report plus the extra photos, available for 60 days.
Do new construction homes need an inspection?
Yes. New homes are built fast by many different trades, and city inspections check code minimums, not workmanship. See why your brand new construction home still needs an inspection.
What standards do you follow?
Jeremy is an InterNACHI Certified Professional Inspector® and ICA-certified (Inspection Certification Associates), and we follow the ASHI Standards of Practice of the American Society of Home Inspectors. See the full inspection checklist.
